most people here don’t even have names: “Act Da Fool” Proenza video
I have to say, womenswear isn’t really my thing. However, I have always been interested in Proenza Schouler. The clothes they make are incredibly intelligent. I remember geeking over the Fall 2007 collection designed with Rorschach test patterns in mind.

Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCullough really are the future. To prove that their vision is spot on, all you have to do is watch this Super 8 film “Act Da Fool” by Harmony Korine. Korine brings art-house direction that is reminiscent of his other films like Gummo, Donkey-Boy, and Julien. She also wrote Kids, just sayin’.
Mel Ottenberg styles it using Proenza’s Fall 2010 Collection. The video is dark, eerie, and displays an unfortunate situation of youth in opulent clothing. It’s rare that someone in fashion will take such a stab at social commentary. I am also struck by how realistic and beautiful these delinquent girls from Nashville can be.
My friend showed me this and said, “This is kind of my ideal fashion video.” I think I have to agree.
Let me know your thoughts.
